Categories

The categories section is designed to help home service partners organize their offerings into clear, logical groupings. This structure makes it easier for customers to discover the right services quickly while also simplifying backend management and updates.

At the top right of the interface, you’ll find four essential action buttons:

  • Delete
  • Export
  • Update serial No.
  • Add new (Add Category, Add Sub-Category)

 

Here you can see a sorted table with the following columns like image, name, provider types, sub category, serial no., status (Toggle to Block or Unblock the category), action (edit, delete, copy ID), reorder.

+Adding a Category

When “Add Category” is selected, a pop-up form appears where you can:

  • Select Provider Type
  • Enter Category Name
  • Upload Category Image
  • Tap “Add” to save and create the new category.

 

+Adding a Sub-Category

When “Add Sub-Category” is selected, a separate pop-up form opens:

  • Select Category
  • Enter Sub-Category Name
  • Upload Sub-Category Image
  • Tap “Add” to save the sub-category

FAQ's

The Service Categories section allows the admin to create, manage, and organize all service categories and subcategories available on the platform. These categories are used to group services by type, making it easier for users to browse and book services.

Each category listing displays:

  • Category image
  • Category name
  • Associated provider type(s)
  • Subcategory count
  • Serial number
  • Status (enabled/disabled)
  • Block/Unblock toggle
  • Action buttons (Edit, Delete, Copy Order)

Yes, the admin can drag and drop any category to reorder its position. This directly controls the order in which categories are displayed on the user side.

To add a new category:

  • Click on Add Category
  • Select the provider type
  • Enter the category name
  • Upload a category image
  • Click Add to save it

The new category will appear immediately in the category list.

To add a subcategory:

  • Click on Subcategory for the relevant category
  • Click Add Subcategory
  • Select the parent category
  • Enter the subcategory name
  • Upload an image
  • Click Add

It will now be linked under the selected parent category.

Yes. Use the Edit or Delete buttons next to each category or subcategory in the list. You can also block or unblock a category from being shown on the user side.

The serial number determines the display order of categories. Lower numbers appear first. You can update the serial number or use drag-and-drop to reorder.

Yes. You can:

  • Export the entire category list to your local system
  • Delete one or multiple selected categories or subcategories as needed

Absolutely. All changes made to categories or subcategories are reflected in real time on the user app/website, ensuring a consistent and dynamic experience.

Yes. While adding or editing a category, you can associate it with one or more provider types such as makeup artists, electricians, or plumbers, depending on your service verticals.

Yes, an image is required as it will be displayed on the user interface to visually represent the service category or subcategory.

Blocked or disabled categories:

  • Will not appear on the user side
  • Services under these categories will also become unavailable for booking
  • You can re-enable them at any time
