FAQ's

A Merchant Type (also called Store Type) categorizes merchants/restaurants into specific types such as Grocery, Dairy, Bakery, etc. This ensures that each merchant can only list products relevant to their assigned type, maintaining platform-wide consistency.

Assigning a merchant to a type restricts them to adding products under only that category. This prevents category misplacement and helps users find relevant items more easily.

To create a new merchant type:

  • Click on ‘Add’
  • Enter the name (e.g., Dairy)
  • Optionally enable it as a brand
  • Upload an image
  • Click Create

It will then appear in the list and can be assigned to merchants.

Yes. While creating or editing a Merchant Type, you can enable the “Is Brand” toggle to mark it as a brand. This is useful for branding-specific stores under a known label.

Each row shows:

  • Merchant Type Image
  • Name
  • Creation Date
  • Serial Number
  • Status (Active/Inactive)
  • Action Buttons (Edit/Delete/Copy ID)

The serial number determines the display order of merchant types in the list or dropdowns. Lower numbers appear first. You can either update the serial number manually or use the drag-and-drop feature to reorder them.

Click and drag the merchant type entry using the reorder icon and drop it in the desired position. The order will auto-save or prompt you to update the list.

Yes. You can toggle the status to “Inactive” to temporarily block a merchant type without removing it from the system. This is useful for seasonal categories.

Use the ‘Import’ button and upload a file in the specified format. You can download the correct format by clicking ‘Sample Merchandise Sheet’ before uploading.

This copies the unique ID of the merchant type to your clipboard. It is often needed when importing or linking products in bulk uploads.

Yes. Use the search bar at the top of the listing table to find a specific store/merchant type quickly.

Yes. Use the ‘Export’ button to download the current list of merchant types and save it locally as a reference or for editing purposes.

After creating a merchant type, you must create categories under it.
The platform structure follows this hierarchy:
Merchant Type → Category → Subcategory (optional) → Products

The flow is:

  • Merchant Type (e.g., Dairy)
  • Category (e.g., Milk Products)
  • Subcategory (optional) (e.g., Flavored Milk)
  • Product (e.g., Strawberry Milk)

Yes. You can select multiple entries and use the bulk delete action to remove them from the system.
